Bikewise

Ben from Team Energize recently visited Firth Primary school and taught the senior students some very important bike safety skills.  It was a sunny afternoon and the children had a lot of fun.  They enjoyed pedalling around the obstacle course and putting their newly learned skills to use.  See how they went in the photos below.

Interschool Cross Country

Last Friday, most of our top runners travelled to Hinuera for the annual Interschool Cross Country.  It was an overcast day and at times the rain fell down but that didn’t stop the action.  All of our competitors tried their very best and flew around the hilly farmland course.  Our top placed athletes were as follows: Manny Faulkner, 5th; Gracie Tempelmeyer, 7th; and Jadah Graham, 3rd.  Well done to all of the runners and we would like to say a big thank you to all of the parent helpers and supporters.

Basketball Champs

We recently finished another great season of basketball / miniball.  We had four teams: two basketball teams in the year 5/6 grade, and two miniball teams in the year 3/4 grade.  Our players had a lot of fun, learnt some new skills and played with great fair play attitudes.

Congratulations to the Firth Rockets who won the year 5/6 competition.  Our team managed to edge out the competition by four goals in the final for an exciting finish to the season.  Meanwhile, the Firth Magic finished midway in the table and showed massive improvements over the seven week tournament.

In the year 3/4 grade, the Firth Firebirds also won their competition.  They finished strong with some particularly big wins towards the end of the season.  And finally, the Firth Hawks came in near the middle of their table.

Congratulations to all the players on an excellent season and thank you to all of the wonderful parent helpers and supporters.

Symphony Orchestra, & the Hamilton Gardens

Recently, the senior school traveled to Hamilton to watch the symphony orchestra.  The theme was music from around the world and the orchestra put on an excellent show.  After that, we headed off to the Hamilton Gardens to see the sights.  Thank you to Mrs Johnston for organising the day.  Check out a few of our photos below.
